Before launching the automatic tracking, the user should define which blob (object) to track in the recording. The function of the blob comparator is to find the blob that is - in a certain aspect - the closest match to this defined reference blob in each frame.
The Simple Distance Blob Comparator searches for and identifies the blob in the new frame that is nearest to the last known position of the previous blob.
